The article reported that the wedding occurred at the corner of Hyde's Store in Iowa Park, while the couple sat in their buggy. The officiating judge was Justice A. L. Brubaker, and continues: 'This was the first [time he was] called upon to officiate in this line and was somewhate embarrassed, knowing that the boys would guy him. Never let a little thing like this bother you Mr. Justice.2

    1930 Census8 Apr 1930 Hertha Musch Cottrell and Gilbert Fleetwood Cottrell appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Houston, Harris County, TX, at 4517 Siegel, enumerated 8 Apr 1930. Bert was shown as a 37-year-old cabinet maker working for a furniture company, born TX. Hertha was shown as age 30, born Germany, emigrated 1907 and naturalized. They had been married for eight years and owned their own home, valued at $2000. Immediately below the Cottrells on the census form, in household 248 at 4519 Siegel, are John, Emilie and Herbert Musch, all of whom emigrated from Germany at the same time as Hertha in 1907. Presumably these are Hertha's parents and sibling. There is no record of the family at the Ellis Island website.3 
    Death3 May 1990 Hertha Musch Cottrell died on 3 May 1990 at TX at age 90. Obituary, Houston Chronicle, May 5, 1990:

    "COTTRELL: HERTHA GERTRUDE ELIZABETH COTTRELL, 90, died Thursday in a local hospital. Mrs. Cottrell was born in Germany on December 4, 1899. She was a nurse for several years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Maigloeckchen Lodge #20 of the Sons of Herman. She married Gilbert Cottrell on June 8, 1922. He preceded her in death in 1970. SURVIVORS: (2) Nephews; Alfred Musch, Jr., of Beaumont, Texas, H. L. Haag, III of New Orleans, (3) Grandnieces; Susan Musch Cowen of Houston; Holley Haag and Heather Haag of New Orleans. A Host of friends. SERVICES: 3:00 P.M., Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 3606 Beauchamp, Burial in Resthaven Cemetery."1,2
