Default Henry Baker's Children- Burke and Caldwell County records

BURKE COUNTY N.C. MARRIAGE RECORDS 1781-1868 by Frances T. Ingmire has this record : Baker, Nancy married Robert Wakefield Jan 4 , 1819. (There are others of our Baker marriages recorded there too.)

I, William Puett....bequeath to my beloved wife Cinthia Puett...(life estate-portion of land and slaves etc.) ...my children Melita , Caroline, Joseph Puett, and the unborn child or children she is now pregnant with equal portions of that estate after her death. (also beqeathes them some other chattel.) The residue of my land not already disposed be equally divided between my children Nancy White, wife of William, John Puett, Basheba Medaris, Frances Estes, Polly Chambers and Mary Chambers and their heirs. To my son William Puett I give one dollar only, his having received in land a full share or more of my estate. .....I appoint my friend and relative William Puett, son of John and William White executors of this my last will...31 Oct, 1842. Witnessed by William Dickson and Elijah Pendley. Probated Jan, 1843 *( Cynthia Puett was born in 1815-after his first 5 children were born!)

I , John Baker,...bequeath that my beloved wife Lucy Baker shall have (life estate and slaves). I give and devise to my sons Joseph Baker, John Baker, Elisha Baker, William Baker and my daughters Mary Baird, Nancy M. Wilson, Patsy A. Holloway, Frances P. Shell, Bashaba McCall, Lucinda Baker, Eliza G. Baker, Claricy A. Baker and my granddaughter Charity Elizabeth Redmond all and singular my personal estate to be divided equally amongst them......lands to my four sons Joseph, John, Elisha, and William to be equally divided after wife's death. Lastly...I appoint my son Joseph Baker and son in law samuel McCall as my lawful executors... 25 August 1844. Witnessed by E.P. Miller and Saml Baird Probated Jan. 1848

That's it. The proof in a nutshell. Please, if you wouldn't mind passing it on. Just in case I never get back to the Pamunkey Baker website. There was someone named Ginny Lenoir who was looking too...I couldn't log on to answer her query.
